mubingalib on "How i show category name using post_meta in functions.php?"

Hi everyone, i use this function in my functions.php file to display author name and comments <p class="post_meta">by '.get_the_author().' | Posted In: '.get_the_category().'| '.get_comments_number().' comments</p>
but how can i show category name in that function???
