The editor is connected with the WordPress version. Thus you might not have the color options depending on your WordPress version. Another fast way of changing the font color will be the following: shift your text to text mode and within the tag insert: style="color: #FF0000" for red or style="color: #000000" for black, e.g. <span style="color: #ff6600;">test</span>.
