Lets make it simple:
What Do i want? To build a website as a portfolio for my phtography.
I wich step am I? In the step 0
What kind of sistem do I use? Mac
What I did before coming here? Look at 5 diferent videos in youtube and ask friends, install MAMP, follow all the steps. Create a Database and try to open it with the URL (http://localhost:8888/Databasename) And with (http://localhost:8888/).

Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the Alasartephotography database.
Are you sure it exists?
Does the user have permission to use the Alasartephotography database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_Alasartephotography. Could that be the problem?
If you don't know how to set up a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.
Some Idea? Other programs to try to build my wordpress portfolio website OFFLINE before I purchase the domain and host and upload it?
